Don't Throw Your Jack O' Lantern Away Until Your Read This!

Do you always simply toss your pumpkin in the green bin as soon as that last Trick or Treater leaves your doorstep? This year, before you do, read the below list and re-purpose your pumpkin!

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: Don't toss those pumpkin seeds; roast them for a tasty snack or salad topper.

Save Seeds for Planting: Air dry the seeds for about 24hrs, then place them in a plastic bag and store in a cool, dry place to have ready to plant in the Spring!

Make Pumpkin Puree: Transform your pumpkin into puree for soups, pies, or smoothies.

Bake a Pumpkin Pie: The classic pumpkin pie is always a delicious option for using your Halloween pumpkin.

Make A Bird Feeder: Just cut it horizontally in half and fill with bird seed. Leave it out as is, or hang it from a tree with twine.

Donate to Zoos, Shelters, or Farms: Consider donating your pumpkins to zoos, animal shelters, farms, or community gardens for compost material or animal snacks.

Seasonal Decor: Indoors or out, add seasonal flowers and foilage as well as other embelishments for a fun fall decoration.

Is there something special you do with your pumpkin after Halloween? We would be delighted to know! Please share your idea to tanya@jj.team.
